Religious Education
Saint Stanislaus offers religious education (CCD) for all school-aged children in our parish who do not attend catholic school. Religion education classes for grades 1 through 8 meet on Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 9:45. Registration for religious education classes occurs in May for current students, however, registration for new members can occur at any time by contacting Eileen Hadfield at (401) 846-6635.
Preparation for First Eucharist: All 2nd grade students at Saint Stanislaus receive their first communion in the spring. Students who do not attend Saint Stanislaus school are prepared to receive their first communion through the religious education program. Although first communion occurs in 2nd grade, parents should register their students for religious education beginning in the 1st grade so that their child can be fully prepared.
Confirmation: Confirmation preparation is a two year process, beginning in the 8th grade and continuing through the spring of the student’s 9th grade year. The 8th grade preparation occurs either at Saint Stanislaus School or through the religious education program. The 9th grade preparation (Confirmation II) occurs through classes at the church that meet at 9:00 on Sunday mornings. Please refer to the confirmation class schedule for the meeting dates.
PRAYER FOR COURAGE
Heavenly Father,
Give me the courage to strive for the highest goals,
to flee every temptation to be mediocre.
Enable me to aspire to greatness, as Pier Giorgio did,
and to open my heart with joy to Your call to holiness.
Free me from the fear of failure.
I want to be, Lord, firmly and forever united to You.
Grant me the graces I ask You through Pier Giorgio's intercession,
by the merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.
