Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, and Acolytes: Each of these ministries provides a wonderful opportunity for lay persons to participate in the celebration of the mass in a holy and spiritually rewarding way.
Lectors: A lector is someone who proclaims the first and second readings during Sunday Catholic Eucharistic celebration. Becoming a lector is a serious decision and commitment to your faith and parish, since you are sharing your time and energy to the service of the church.
Acolytes: Altar servers assist the priest in his celebration of the Holy Mass. During the Mass, altar servers carry out duties such as setting the altar for the liturgy of the Eucharist, bringing up water and wine for the priest to transform into the Body and Blood of Christ, washing the priest hands and assistance with other such rituals. Altar serving is regarded as a good way to get young people more interested and involved in their religion and their parish.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: They assist priests and deacons at Mass with distribution of the Body and Blood of Our Lord and to bring Holy Communion to the sick and especially as viaticum to the dying.
Please contact Tom Wrobel at (508) 673-4227 if you are interested in becoming a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, lector or acolyte. Click on the link below for the most recent schedule for all lay ministers.
St. Stan’s Seniors: All seniors are invited to join the St. Stan Seniors group for fellowship and fun times. Our group meets on the 2nd Monday of the month for lunch and we plan many events and trips throughout the year, which are posted in the bulletin and the local newspaper. Please contact Phyllis Fortier at (508) 676-8378 if you are interested in joining the senior’s group.
Adult Choir: The choir ministry enhances the mass and it is truly a blessing to be a member. We would welcome anyone from high school age and onward who has a desire to be a part of this very fulfilling ministry. If you are interested in joining the choir, contact Valerie Polka at (508) 677-2345. The choir meets for practice on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 at the church and the choir sings at 10:00 mass every other Sunday.
Holy Rosary Sodality: The Holy Rosary Sodality meets the first Sunday of the month after the 7:30 mass. We pray a decade of the rosary daily for our monthly intentions, which are posted in the bulletin. If you are interested in joining the Holy Rosary Sodality, please feel free to join us at our monthly meeting.
Respect Life: The Respect Life ministry is an informational and outreach program designed to protect all life from conception to natural death. If you are interested in learning more about our Respect Life ministry, please contact Donna Lapointe at (401) 624-3796.
Eucharistic Adoration: The Eucharistic Adoration ministry is a great gift to our parish and it offers our adorers many graces and blessings as we pray for the intentions of all of our parishioners. Eucharistic Adoration takes place every Monday from 7:30 to 3:15. At 2:30, we pray a rosary for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life and for the respect life movement. At 3:00, we pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Because someone must be present in the church at all times during the exposition of the blessed sacrament, we invite all interested parishioners to join us, if only for a small time. If you are interested in participating in this ministry, please contact Anne Joerres at (508) 678-4815.
